Principles

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Morgan and Morgan prides itself on being an ethical and honest company and we appreciate the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility. We have strong links with our local community and all our staff enjoy raising money for charities as well as contributing their time and energy towards good causes.

Morgan and Morgan understands the economic, social and environmental impact of business and the company as a whole works to reduce the consequences. We conduct all our business in an open and transparent manner and this has allowed us to forge long term working relationships with our customers.

COMPANY ETHICS

Morgan and Morgan has always observed a policy of conducting all its business with both suppliers and clients in a clear, honest and transparent manner. We realise that while we have fantastic staff, they cannot know everything. We encourage them to admit when they don’t know an answer but will make sure they get one for you. While we recognise the importance of making money we won’t sell you equipment you don’t need just because it has a bigger profit margin. A good sale at Morgan and Morgan is meeting the customers’ needs.

We work hard to create a calm working atmosphere both in our offices and warehouse and discourage bad language and aggressive attitudes. We understand the pressures of modern life and try to meet the needs of all our staff. At Morgan and Morgan we do not discriminate against age, gender, race, religion, disability or qualifications.

ENVIRONMENTAL MEASURES

Paper BalerMorgan and Morgan works hard to reduce its impact on the environment and we adhere to the Reduce, Reuse Recycle philosophy. Our experience of greening our business has helped us compile our Guide to Greening Your Office, which is available from this web site.

We have ensured that our purpose built headquarters at Cross Hands complies with the latest guidelines for energy efficiency. Our building is warmed by heat exchangers while we simply open a window in the summer rather than rely on air conditioning. Our internal and external lights have either timer switches or use infrared motion sensors to reduce power.

All our PC and office equipment uses the state of the art ’Bye Bye Stand-by’ device, which turns off any equipment not in use, thus reducing the amount of power we waste.

We encourage our staff to use double-sided photocopiers to cut down on paper and only supply copiers that offer this option. We also encourage our staff to email rather than use letters. We shred all our paper, which is then recycled as bedding for pets. Over the years we have managed to reduce the amount of rubbish we use so that we only fill one wheelie bin a week. This is remarkable for a company that takes back and recycles all packaging from our clients.

Our circular delivery routes are carefully drawn up so that we reduce fuel and we focus on clients within a 50-mile radius. We also buy all our fuel from local suppliers to reduce tankers mileage. Morgan and Morgan uses local or Welsh suppliers whenever possible and looks for green companies that use recycled products.

COMMUNITY

Arrest a BossWe believe in supporting our local community and here at Morgan and Morgan we do more than just sign a few cheques. As well as raising thousands of pounds for local and national charities we take the time to help local groups.

Every year Morgan and Morgan stages the popular Battle of the Business quiz and Arrest a Boss, which has raised more than £10,000 for Children in Need.
We also support the local ABC Church in Ammanford, which works to help young people in the local area. As well as donating money, staff at Morgan and Morgan offer their time to help out with projects and events.

The Morgan brothers, Phylip and Michael are governors at four local schools and regularly take the time to visit the schools to take part in assemblies as well as undertaking their regular governor duties. The brothers also help out at a local project that encourages the long term unemployed back into training and work.

Morgan and Morgan uses a local company ‘Get Stuffed’ to stuff envelopes and mail shots. The company is run by the 2Activ8 project, which trains people with learning disabilities. Morgan and Morgan also welcomes young people looking for work experience and has linked up with the local Mencap office to offer an eight week placement for young people with learning disabilities who are studying at college.
